Alessandro Pier Guidi delighted with WEC world title

Alessandro Pier Guidi enjoyed a very successful 2017 with Ferrari in the FIA World Endurance Championship, in his first season with the Maranello-based brand as a works contracted driver.

The Italian GT ace, along with co-driver James Calado, won the drivers' GT World Championship title in the finale at the 6 Hours of Bahrain, in which they were second in class behind the sister Ferrari of Davide Rigon and Sam Bird.

Alessandro Pier Guidi was delighted with the title and gave full credits to both Ferrari and the AF Corse team.

This is the best second place of my career for sure. I realise I am now a World Champion and it seems crazy as this is the first season for me to race here in WEC. It is a great feeling and I want to say a big thanks to all the teams. To give me, an Italian driver, the chance to race here at Ferrari is fantastic. I want to thanks Ferrari, the whole AF Corse and especially Amato (Ferrari).
