Proton Competition wins GTE at Estoril, JMW Motorsport clinches ELMS titles

Proton Competition has won the GTE class at the 4 Hours of Portimao while JMW Motorsport has clinched the class championship titles in the European Le Mans Series.

The winning #77 Porsche 911 RSR was driven by Christian Ried, Joël Camathias and Matteo Cairoli. This is the first victory this season for the German team in the ELMS.

Second place went to JMW Motorsport with their #66 Ferrari 488 GTE. This result was enough to give both Robert Smith and Jody Fannin the drivers' title. Before the race they were just one point behind TF Sport's drivers

Will Stevens didn't take part to the full season with JMW Motorsport and therefore couldn't been crowned as well.

JMW Motorsport also won the ELMS GTE teams' title ahead of the TF Sport Aston Martin squad.

The podium at Portimao was completed by the TF Sport-run #90 Aston Martin Vantage GTE in the hands of Salih Yoluc, Euan Hankey and Nicki Thiim.

More to come.
