JMW Motorsport wins GTE in the 4 Hours of Monza

The JMW Motorsport team has won the GTE class in the 4 Hours of Monza. The famous Temple of Speed played host to the second round of the 2017 European Le Mans Series.

The winning #66 Ferrari 458 Italia was shared by Robert Smith, Jody Fannin and Jonathan Cocker . They completed a total of 121 laps and were  twenty-second overall.

It was the last race for JMW Motorsport with the all-conquering Ferrari 458 Italia. Starting from next month's 24 Hours of Le Mans, the British squad will be racing the Ferrari 488 GTE.

Second place in GTE went to TF Sport with their #90 Aston Martin Vantage GTE driven by Salih Yoluc, Euan Hankey and Nicki Thiim.

Andrew Howard, Ross Gunn and Darren Turner completed the top-three in class driving the Beechdean AMR-run #99 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

.The Spirit of Race #51 Ferrari 488 GTE was fourth. The Proton Competition #77 Porsche 911 RSR was fifth. The Larbre Competition #50 Corvette C7.R was sixth.

Drama for the #55 Ferrari 488 GTE from Spirit of Race, the car which started from GTE pole position was forced to retire after 55 laps.

The third round of the European Le Mans Series will be the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring, July 23rd.
