Davide Rigon: "I can't wait to get on track at Silverstone for the first race"

Davide Rigon is looking forward to this weekend's 6 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The Italian ace will be at the wheel of the AF Corse-run #71 Ferrari 488 GTE along with co-driver Sam Bird competing in the demanding GTE-Pro class.

Davide Rigon has enjoyed a very successful race weekend last year at the "Home of Britih Motorsport" with pole position and class victory and he is hoping to do the same this weekend.

"I can't wait to get on track at Silverstone for the first race," said Davide Rigon. "We know that the competition will be fierce and that every detail will be crucial to the outcome."

"During the winter break, the whole team has worked hard to imprive the Ferrari 488 GTE. We have a very tight group and we are determined to achieve important goals after last year's success"

About the track and new rules, he added, "Silverstone is a technical track and I really like, the weather is an important variable. Last year we even had snow. It will be certainly a very tactical race since the regulation provide only four sets of tires for the whole six-hour race".
