Richard Lietz collected a GTE-Pro podium in the 6 Hours of Silverstone with the brand new Porsche 911 RSR. It was the first race for the car in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The Austrian ace was at the wheel of the #91 Porsche 911 RSR along with Frederic Makowiecki. The two drivers had a frustrating qualifying session, in which Porsche GT Team has clearly focused on race preparation and car set-up.
On race day, Richard Lietz and Frederic Makowiecki bounced back very well and were among the strongest in a very competitive GTE-Pro field.
A strong result for Richard Lietz and the whole Porsche GT Team for their comeback in FIA WEC as a full factory squad.
"It was a very difficult race, particularly my stint with slicks in the rain" stated Richard Lietz at the end of the six-hour event at Silverstone. "We can be very pleased with a podium place. Still, it was definitely a great and promising start to the WEC season"
