Nicki Thiim gives TF Sport GTE pole in Silverstone ELMS qualifying

TF Sport's Nicki Thiim has taken the GTE pole position for Saturday's 4 Hours of Silverstone, the season opener of the 2017 European Le Mans Series.

At the wheel of the #90 Aston Martin Vantage GTE, the works Aston Martin driver set the quickest time class in the ten-minute qualifying session, 1:58.269.

The 2016 FIA WEC GTE-Pro champion will be sharing the car with Salih Yoluc and Euan Hankey in tomorrow's four-hour event

Gunn Ross was second fastest driving the #99 Aston Martin Vantage from Beechean AMR. A very strong performance for the young British driver in his first appearance in the ELMS.

Matt Griffin completed the top-three in GTE with the Spirit of Race-run #55 Ferrari 488 GTE.

Proton Competition's Matteo Cairoli was fourth with the #77 Porsche 911 RSR. Andrea Bertolini was fifth driving the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE from Spirit of Race. Rory Butcher was sixth fastest with the JMW Motorsport #66 Ferrari 458 Italia.
