Corvette Racing has won the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Grand Prix of Long Beach. It was a very chaotic race with multiple contacts and crashes in the 100-minute sprint event.
The winning #4 Corvette C7.R was shared by Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner, who started from position six on the grid.
Heartbreaking........Happy for @TommyMilner and @olivergavin. Shattered for @AntonioGarcia_3. He did a brilliant job again. 😥😂👎👍 pic.twitter.com/1U6UAhC3sv— Jan Magnussen (@janmagnussen) April 8, 2017
Tommy Milner took the lead in the very last corner when an incident blocked the class leading - at that moment - #3 Corvette C7.R of Antonio Garcia and Jan Magunssen, who finished the race in fourth place.
Porsche GT Team completed the GTLM podium with the #912 Porsche 911 RSR of Laurens Vanthoor and Kevin Estre.
