Successful shakedown for Beechdean AMR's upgraded Aston Martin Vantage GTE
Beechdean AMR will be returning to the European Le Mans Series as the defending champions. The customer Aston Martin squad will once again field a Vantage GTE.
The team will be using the upgraded Aston Martin Vantage GTE in both the ELMS and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The #99 car, which will be driven by Darren Turner, Andrew Howard and Ross Gunn, had already a successful shakedown.
The 2016 spec was successful last year in the FIA World Endurance Championship upper GTE-Pro class with the works Aston Martin Racing team.
Nick Thiim and Marco Sørensen won the drivers' title while Aston Martin Racing clinched the teams' trophy.
Beechdean AMR will be heading to the Algarve circuit in Portugal for the annual Aston Martin pre-season test along with the factory squad and other AMR customer teams.
