GTLM teams heading to Daytona for IMSA December test

Daytona International Speedway will play host to a two-day IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship test on December 13th and 14th.

The GT Le Mans class will be very well represented with no less than eight entries from five different brands. Teams and drivers will be preparing for the 2017 season in the premier North American sportscar series.

Corvette Racing, which dominated the 2016 season, will field a pair of Corvette C7.Rs. Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia will be at the wheel of the #3 Corvette. The 2016 drivers' champions Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner will be sharing the sister #4 machine.

Porsche will debut the brand new mid-engined 911 RSR at Daytona. Two cars will be fielded under Porsche GT Team banner. Patrick Piler and Dirk Werner are the drivers of the #911 Porsche, Laurens Vanthoor and Michael Christensen will be driving the #912 911 RSR.

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing will enter the Daytona test with two Ford GTs. The #66 Ford for Dirk Muller and Joey Hand while the #67 Ford GT will be shared by Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and IndyCar ace Scott Dixon.

BMW Team RLL will field a single car at Daytona. John Edwards, Martin Tomczyk and Bruno Spengler will drive the #25 BMW M6 GTLM.

Ferrari will be represented by a single 488 GTE from Risi Competizione, the car will be driven by Toni Vilander.
