Nicki Thiim will start from position two of the grid in Satruday's 6 Hours of Bahrain, the finale of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The Aston Martin Racing ace is sharing the Young Driver AMR run #95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE with fellow Dane Marco Sorenson. The two are currently leading the overall GTE-Pro driver's standing and are now very close to winning the title.
Nicki Thiim is delighted with Aston Martin Racing performances in qualifying and looks forward to the race, a true title decider.
That was brilliant for Aston Martin. It’s been quite difficult in the past couple of races but the car is working really well here, particularly the tyre, and I think that’s where our advantage is.
Tomorrow, it’s a long race but I want to win and make sure that we get the team, drivers and GTE Pro championships. I will be taking the start for tomorrow, I want to stay out of trouble and then we’ll see what the race brings.
