Aston Martin Racing leads the two GTE classes in Bahrain second practice
As was the case in the opening practice, GTE-Pro was another Aston Martin Racing affair in the second practice session at Bahrain International Circuit.
Championship leaders Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen set the fastest time in class, 1:57.226 with the Young Driver AMR run #95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.
Darren Turner and Jonathan Adam, who lead the first practice, were second quickest with the sister #97 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.
Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK's Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx completed the top-three in GTE-Pro with the #67 Ford GT.
AF Corse's Davide Rigon and Sam Bird where fourth with the #71 Ferrari 488 GTE ahead of team-mates Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado, fifth with the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE.
Stefan Mucke and Olivier Pla were sixth with the #66 Ford GT. Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen were seventh with the #77 Porsche 911 RSR from Dempsey Proton Racing.
GTE-Am was dominated by Aston Martin Racing as well. Paul Dalla Lana, Mathias Lauda and Pedro Lamy were the fastest with the #98 Aston Martin Vantage GTE, they set a best time of 1:59.460.
Larbre Competition #50 Corvette C7.R was second in class with drivers Pierre Ragues, Romain Brandella and Ricky Taylor.
François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Rui Aguas were third with the AF Corse #83 Ferrari 458 Italia.
Bahrain Second Practice Results
Action will resume on Friday with a third practice session followed by the qualifying one.
