Double pole position for Aston Martin Racing in Bahrain

Darren Turner and Johantahn Adam have taken the GTE-Pro pole position for Saturday's 6 Hours of Bahrain, round nine and the season finale of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The two Aston Martin Racing aces set the best average time in the twenty-minute qualifying session, 1:56.953 at the wheel of the works #97 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

Their team-mates Marco Sorensen and Nicki Thiim were second fastest with the sister #95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

AF Corse's Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado were third quickest in class with the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE.

Aston Matyin Racing dominated the GTE-Am field as well with the #98 Aston Martin Vantage GTE of Paul Dalla Lana and Pedro Lamy. The two drivers set the best time in the session, 1:59.879 and they will be joined by Mathias Lauda in the six-hour event.

The #83 Ferrari 458 Italia from AF Corse was second fastest. The Larbre Competition run #50 Corvette C7.R completed the top-three in class.
