An all-Ford Chip Ganassi Racing front row at Fuji


It was an all-Ford affair in the GTE-Pro qualifying session at the Fuji Speedway. The American brand locked up the front row in class for tomorrow's 4-hour event, round seven of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Pole position went to Olivier Pla and Stefan Mucke sharing the #66 Ford GT. Their set the best average time in the session, 1:37.681.

Their Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK team-mates Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell were second fastest with the #67 Ford GT.


Davide Rigon and Sam Bird completed the top-three in GTE-Pro at the wheel of the AF Corse run #71 Ferrari 488 GTE.

Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado werre fourth quickest with the sister #51 Ferrari 488 GTE.

Aston Martin Racing's two Vantages GTEs were fifth with the #95 car of Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen and sixth with the #97 machine driven by Darren Turner and Richie Stanaway.

Dempsey Proton Racing's Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen qualified seventh with the #77 Porsche 911 RSR.


In GTE-Am, Aston Martin Racing took the class pole position. The #98 Vantage GTE of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda set the best average time in qualifying, 1:39.490.

AF Corse's Rui Aguas, François Perrodo and Emmanuel Collard were second with the #83 Ferrari 458 Italia.

Ricky Taylor, Yutaka Yamagishi and Pierre Ragues were third with the #50 Corvette C7.R from Larbre Competition.

Fuji Qualifying Results

The 6 Hours of Fuji is set for Sunday, the start of the race will be 11:00 local time.
