Ford fastest again the Fuji second practice

As was the case in the opening practice session, a Ford GT was the fastest again in the second practice session at the Fuji Speedway.

Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK's Olivier Pla and Stefan Mucke were the quickest in class at the wheel of the #66 Ford GT. Their best time was 1:38.743.

AF Corse's Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado were second fastest with the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE ahead of the their team-mates Sami Bird and Davide Rigon with the sister #71 Ferrari 488 GTE.

Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx were fourth with the #67 Ford GT from Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK, they were the fastest in the opening session this morning.

The Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTEs were fifth with the #95 of Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen and sixth with the #97 of Darren Turner and Richie Stanaway.

Dempsey Proton Racing's Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen were seventh with the #77 Porsche 911 RSR.

In GTE-Am, Aston Martin Racing was the fastest in the 90-minute session. Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda set a best time of 1:40.112 sharing the #98 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

The Larbre Competition run #50 Corvette C7.R was second fastest in class. The top-three in GTE-Am was completed by the #88 Porsche 911 RSR from Abu Dhabi Proton Racing.

Action will resume on Saturday at the Fuji Speedway with a third practice session followed by the qualifying one.
