Ben Barker gives Porsche GTE pole at Estoril

Proton Competition's Ben Barker has taken the GTE pole position for tomorrow's 4 Hours of Estoril, the season finale of the 2016 European Le Mans Series.

At the wheel of the #88 Porsche 911 RSR, the British driver set the quickest time class in a wet ten-minute qualifying session, 1:54.754. An impressive performance for Ben Barker is his first appearance this year in the ELMS with German squad.

Ben Barker:

It's fantastic for Proton Competition. This is my first round with them and it's my first pole position this season as well. It's fantastic for everyone and this is a good start for tomorrow.

Alessandro Pier Gudi was second fastest driving the #56 Ferrari 458 Italia from AT Racing.

Marco Cioci completed the top-three in GTE with the AF Corse run #51 Ferrari 458 Italia ahead of team-mate Matt Griffin, fourth with the sister #55 machine.
