Joel Camathias: "I am confident that we’ll do well in Texas"

Only two weeks after the Mexico round, which yielded a nice podium finish, Joel Camathias is again on track, for the FIA WEC sixth round of the season, on the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The US track, built in 2012 to host the re-born United States F.1 Grand-Prix, is also new to the Lugano-born driver.

Together with team mates Christian Ried and Wolf Henzler, Joel will aim at another good result in a LMGT Am category which has seen the KCMG Porsche 911 RSR always among key players.  Prospects are encouraging ahead of a race that will take place at night on Saturday, from 17 to 23 hours (local time), during the full night in Europe.

Joel Camathias:

After Mexico, US here we come! I am delighted of this American tour, in countries were racing is so popular. Also Austin is a track where I have never raced before and I am anxious to discover a track that I have heard a lot of nice things about. It’s a technical track, with a good mix of corners, and a lot of up and downs, thus very exciting for drivers. Our Porsche should go well there, as it has been competitive on all types of tracks. I am very happy with the terrific work done by the entire KCMG team since the start of the season, and confident that we’ll do well in Texas. I only hope to have a complete trouble-free race for once, without any glitch, even a puncture like happened in Mexico, although it didn’t prevent to get us on the podium.
