The European Le Mans Series heading to Spa-Francorchamps

The next round of the European Le Mans Series will be held at the challenging Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the fifth event of the 2016 season. A total of 41 cars will compete in the four-hour endurance race at the Belgian Ardennes.

The demanding GTE class will feature the eight full season competitors representing Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche. With just two rounds to go, the battle is raging for the championship titles with just eight points separating the top-three teams.

New points leaders from JMW Motorsport will target a thrid straight victory after winning at the Red Bull Ring and Paul Ricard. Their #66 Ferrari 488 Italia will be driven by Robert Smith, Rory Butcher and Andrea Bertolini who have a total of 68 points each.

Aston Martin Racing's Andrew Howard, Alex MacDowall and Darren Turner will be at the wheel of the #99 Aston Martin Vantage GTE from Beechdean AMR. The three drivers are five points behind JMW Motorsport's trio.

 Alexander Talkanitsa and Alexander Talkanitsa Jr who are third in the drivers' standing will be driving the #56 Ferrari 458 Italia from AT Racing. They will be joined by Ferrari specialist Alessandro Pier Guidi.

AF Corse will field two cars at Spa-Francorchamps. The #51 Ferrari 458 Italia from Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Marco Cioci and Rui Aguas, the sister #55 Ferrari 458 Italia will be shared by Duncan Cameron, Matt Griffin and Aaron Scott.

Johnny Laursen, Mikkel Mac and Christina Nielsen will be driving the #60 Ferrari 458 Italia from Danish squad Formula Racing.

Porsche will be once again represented by a pair of 911 RSRs from Proton Competition. Michael Hedlund, Wolf Henzler and Marco Seefried will be the drivers of the #77 Porsche. The sister #88 machine will be shared by Gianluca Roda, Christian Ried and the returning Matteo Cairoli, who took GTE pole position a the Red Bull Ring.
