Dirk Müller takes GTLM pole position at Road America

Dirk Müller has taken the GT Le Mans pole position at Road America. The factory Ford driver set the quickest time in GTLM qualfying with 2:02.451. He will be sharing the #66 Ford GT with team-mate Joey Hand in the Sunday's IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event at Elkhart Lake.

Dirk Müller :

I am happy for this pole position. This is my first one in the IMSA series after taking the pole at Le Mans. My team-mate Joey Hand is doing a great job this weekend and the whole team is working really hard.

Second fastest was Patrick Pilet driving the Porsche North America run #911 Porsche 911 RSR, his best time was 2:02.912.

Ryan Briscoe completed the top-three in GTLM driving the #67 Ford GT from Ford Chip Ganassi Racing with a best time of 2:02.936.

Giancarlo Fisichella was fourth with Risi Competizione #62 Ferrari 488 GTE. Earl Bamber was fifth with Porsche North America #912 Porsche 911 RSR.

Corvette Racing's Antonio Garcia was sixth with the #3 Corvette C7.R ahead of his team-mate Olivier Gavin seventh fastest with the sister #4 Corvette C7.R.

A frustrating session for the two BMW Team RLL entries, Lucas Luhr was eighth fastest with the #100 BMW, Bill Auberlen was ninth with the #25 M6 GTLM
