James Calado celebrated his first victory of the season at the Nürburgring last weekend. The factory Ferrari driver along with Gianmaria Bruni, took a fine GTE-Pro victory at the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring, the fourth event of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.
At the wheel of the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE from team AF Corse, James Calado was among the strongest in the GTE-Pro field. The Ferrari squad was challenged by strong rivals from Aston Martin Racing and Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK, but the Maranello brand was able to clinch a 1-2 victory at the end of the 6-hour event.
James Calado was delighted with the Nürburgring after all the bad luck this season in FIA WEC.
I’m extremely happy to take my first win at Ferrari. It was a faultless race by the whole team and after a tough start of the season we deserved this more than ever! It’s great Ferrari scored maximum points and we need to keep pushing hard to get the same result in Mexico.
