Aston Martin Racing* has topped GTE-Pro in the second FIA World Endurance Championship practice session at the Nürburgring.
At the wheel of the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GTE, Darren Turner and Richie Stanaway set the quickest time in the class with 1:56.908 in the 90-minute afternoon session.
James Calado and Gianmaria Bruni - who were the fastest in the opening practice session - were second with the AF Corse run #51 Ferrari 488 GTE, their best time was 1:56.982.
Davide Rigon and Sam Bird completed the top-three in class with the #71 Ferrari 488 GTE from AF Corse.
The Aston Martin Racing #95 Vantage GTE was fourth. The two cars from Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK were again fifth with #66 Ford GT and sixth with the sister #67 Ford GT. The Dempsey Proton Racing #77 Porsche 911 RSR was seventh.
In the GTE-Am class, the AF Corse #83 Ferrari 458 Italia was the fastest with drivers Rui Aguas, Emmanuel Collard and François Peredo with a best time of 1:59.200.
The Larbre Competition #50 Corvette C7.R was second fastest ahead of the third placed #88 Porsche 911 RSR from Abu-Dhabi Proton Racing.
Action will resume on Saturday at the Nürburgring with the third practice session followed by the qualifying one.
