JMW Motorsport wins GTE, 1-2-3 Ferrari at 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring

Ferrari and JMW Motorsport have taken the GTE class victory at the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring, the third round of the 2016 European Le Mans Series. A 1-2-3 victory for the Ferrari brand, their first one in this season's ELMS.

The winning #66 Ferrari 488 Italia was driven by Robert Smith, Rory Butcher and Andrea Bertolini. They finished the race in thirteenth place overall and covered a total of 151 laps.

The JMW Motorsport squad was the strongest all race long despite a contact with an LMP2 car first and a spin later in the opening stages of the event.

Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Marco Cioci and Rui Aguas took second place in class with the AF Corse run #51 Ferrari 458 Italia

Alexander Talkanitsa, Alexander Talkanitsa Jr and Alessandro Pier Guidi completed the top-three in GTE driving the AT Racing #61 Ferrari 458 Italia.

Beechdean AMR narrowly missed the podium as Andrew Howard, Alex MacDowall and Darren Turner were fourth with the #99 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

Unlucky race for Proton Competition's Porsches. The #88 Porsche 911 RSR was fifth ahead of the sister #77 Porsche 911 RSR sixth.

Formula Racing #60 Ferrari 458 Italia was seventh and the AF Corse #55 Ferrari 458 Italia was eighth.

The next round of the European Le Mans Series will be held at the Paul Ricard circuit, August 27th and 28th.
