The 24 Hours of Le Mans has started for Joel Camathias

The great adventure for Joel Camathias, his second participation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has started. As usual, the greatest endurance race in the world, has kicked-off with technical and administrative scrutineering, held downtown on Sunday and Monday. A ritual followed by a huge crowd, as always and despite the humid weather.

For the 60 cars in contention, track activity will start tomorrow, on Wednesday, with free practice and the first qualifying session. Joel and his team mates, Wolf Henzler and Christian Ried, as well as the entire KCMG team are ready to hit the track with the Porsche 911 RSR #78 and to start working on the set-up of the car and on the preparation to the long and tough race.

Joel Camathias:

It is always an emotion to be at Place de la République for the scrutineering, a moment rich in tradition and where you can really feel the hug of the fans. Now, we are anxious to have serious things starting. Tomorrow and Thursday, we’ll have free practice and qualifying, which are really key. The objective is not to do incredible lap times, which here do not mean much, but to find the best set-up for the car and optimize all the details. This is a race where you cannot anticipate and foresee everything, but it is important to plan well in order to be ready for anything that can happen. The entire team is very motivated and ready to give its best.
