Ferrari has dominated the two Grand Touring classes in the four-hour practice session at the Circuit de La Sarth. The Italian brand scored a 1-2 in the ultra competitve GTE-Pro with the factory supported Ferrari 488 GTEs. The session was red flagged with 7 minutes to go.
Gianmaria Bruni at the wheel of the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE set the quickest time in GTE-Pro, a 3:53.833 in the final hour of the session. The Italian ace was sharing the AF Corse run car with James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi.
Second place went to the Risi Competizione #82 Ferrari 488 GTE in the hands of Toni Vilander, Giancarlo Fisichella and Matteo Malucelli.
The top-three in GTE-Pro class was completed by the Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA #68 Ford GT driven by Sébastien Bourdais, Dirk Mueller and Joey Hand.
Best of the Porsche Motorsport cars was only eighth with the #92 Porsche 911 RSR. The Aston Martin Racing #95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE was tenth. The Corvette Racing #63 Corvette C7.R was eleventh.
GTE-Am was a Ferrari affair as well with a 1-2-3 in class. Clearwater Racing was the fastest with the #61 Ferrari 458 Italia with a best time of 3:57.543.
The Scuderia Corsa #62 Ferrari 458 Italia was second fastest. The AF Corse #83 Ferrari 458 Italia was third quickest.
