Strong European Le Mans Series GTE entries at La Sarthe

The European Le Mans Series will be very well represented in next month's Le Mans 24 Hours. No less than fourteen ELMS cars will compete in the prestigious French endurance race.

The GTE-Am class at Le Mans will feauture four strong entries from the European Le Mans Series. representing three different manufacturers.

Leading the  European Le Mans Series GTE field at Le Mans will be the Beechdean AMR effort. The British team is leading the class in the series after winning the opening round at Silverstone and taking a fifth place at Imola. The #99 Aston Martin Vantage GTE will be driven by team owner Andrew Howard along with Liam Griffin and Gary Hirsch.

Ferrari will have two cars coming from the European Le Mans Series. AF Corse will enter the #55 Ferrari 458 Italia with drivers Duncan Cameron, Aaron Scott and Matt Griffin. The second effort is from Danish team Formula Racing, Johnny Laursen, Christina Nielsen and Mikkel Mac will be at the wheel of the #60 Ferrari 458 Italia. Both teams are having a frustrating start in this year's ELMS competition.

Last but not least, Porsche. The German brand will have a single ELMS GTE car at Le Mans. Proton Competition will be entering the #89 Porsche 911 RSR for American drivers Cooper MacNeil, Leh Keen and Marc Miller. The Proton Competition effort is in association with WeatherTech Racing, a Porsche team in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in GT Daytona (GTD) class). Proton Competition took a dominant GTE victory in the second round of the ELMS at Imola.
