Porsche unveils the 2017 Porsche GTE challenger

Here is the brand new 2017 Porsche challenger for GTE competition. The car is expected to compete next year in FIA World Endurance Championship (GTE-Pro) including the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (GTLM).

As seen in the first pictures from the Suttgart based brand, only the front end of the new racer has been revealed so far.

Marco Ujhasi, Overall Project Manager GT Works Motorsport:

It is definitely unusual to put several drivers behind the wheel at a rollout. But since all of our works drivers are involved in the development of the new car, the ones who could fit it into their schedules came to Weissach and turned a couple of laps.

The car will be debuting at the 2017 Rolex 24 at Daytona, the opening round of the IMSA season.

Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser, Head of Porsche Motorsport:

The race debut of a completely new vehicle at a 24-hour race is a big challenge. But we are right on schedule.
