A familiar face will be returning to La Sarthe next month. Dailysportscar is reporting that Corvette Racing legend Johnny O’Connell will be competing in this year's Le Mans 24 Hours with a C7.R.
A multiple GTS / GT1 winner in French classic with Chevrolet as well in the American Le Mans Series, Johnny O’Connell will drive for the privateer Team AAI. The car will be entered in the GTE-Am class and will be supported by ProSpeed Competition from Belgium.
Johnny O’Connell will be joined at Le Mans 24 Hours by Mark Patterson and Oliver Bryant at the wheel of the #57 Corvette. The same chassis which has won GTE-Pro in last year's event with the factory Corvette Racing team.
A GM factory driver Johnny O’Connell is competing in Pirelli World Challenge with the works Cadillac Racing team and has clinched four straight GT titles in the North American sportscar series.
