Aston Martin Racing domination in GTE classes in Spa-Francorchamps FP1

Aston Martin Racing has dominated both GTE-Pro and GTE-Am classes in the opening FIA World Endurance Championship practice session at Spa-Francorchamps.

Aston Martin works drivers Richie Stanaway, Fernando Rees and Jonathan Adam were the fasest in GTE-Pro class. A the wheel of the facotry #97 Aston Martin Vantage GTE, they set the best time in GTE-Pro class with 2:19.296.

The British brand was the fastest in GTE-Am too with the #98 Aston Martin Vantage GTE driven by Paul Dalla Lana, Mathias Lauda and Pedro Lamy. The were second overall among the GTE cars ahead of most of the GTE-Pro field.

The Ferrari 488 GTEs from AF Corse  were second and third fastest in GTE-Pro. The #51 Ferrari of James Calado and Gianmaria Bruni was second. Their team-mates Davide Rigon and Sam Bird were third with the sister #71 machine.

The factory Ford GTs from Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK were fourth and fifth fastest in GTE-Pro. Dempsey Proton Racing #77 Porsche 911 RSR was sixth. The #95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE was seventh.

Larbre Competition #50 Corvette C7.R was second fastest in GTE-Am ahead of the Abu-Dhabi Proton Racing #88 Porsche 911 RSR in third.
