Andrea Bertolini and Alessandro Pier Guidi join AF Corse at Le Mans 24 Hours
AF Corse will have two stellar driver line-ups in next month's Le Mans 24 Hours. Team principal Amato Ferrari has confirmed to Dailysportscar that Ferrari specialists Andrea Bertolini and Alessandro Pier Guidi are set to join the team at La Sarthe.
Alessandro Pier Guidi will be at the wheel of the #51 Ferrari 488, he will join team's regaluars in FIA WEC Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado. Alessandro Pier Guidi has already driven the Ferrari 488 GTE earlier this year in the IMSA series with Scuderia Corsa.
Andrea Bertolini will drive the sister #71 machine along with FIA WEC GTE-Pro points leaders Davide Rigon and Sam Bird. Andrea Bertolini is the 2015 FIA WEC GTE-Am champion and is competing this year in the European Le Mans Series with JMW Motorsport. The Italian ace is also familiar with the Ferrari 488 GTE as he did two American races, the Rolex 24 at Daytona with SMP Racing and the 12 Hours of Sebring with Scuderia Corsa.
AF Corse will be aiming high at Le Mans in the ultra competitive GTE-Pro class. The factory supported Italian squad will try to give Ferrari a new prestigious class victory in the French classic.
