Scuderia Corsa Ferrari leads GTLM in Laguna Seca FP1


Scuderia Corsa was the fastest in GT Le Mans (GTLM) class in the opening IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice session at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The #68 Ferrari 488 GTE driven by Alessandro Pierguidi and Daniel Serra was the quickest of the field setting a 1:22.975. The two drivers covered a total of 35 laps.

Strong performances from Dirk Mueller and Joey Hand as well. The two Ford drivers were second fastest behind the wheel of the #66 Ford GT from Ford Chip Ganassi Racing with a best time of 1:23.047.

The top-three in GTLM was completed by the Risi Competizione #62 Ferrari 488 GTE in the hands of Giancarlo Fischella and Toni Vilander.

The #67 Ford GT of Chip Ganassi Racing was fourth. The #3 Corvette C7.R of Corvette Racing was fifth. The #25 BMW M6 GTLM of BMW Team RLL was sixth. The #911 Porsche 911 RSR of Porsche North America was seventh. The #4 Corvette C7.R of Corvette Racing was eighth. The #912 Porsche 911 RSR of Porsche North America was ninth. The #100 BMW M6 GTLM of BMW Team RLL was tenth.

Teams and drivers will be back on track later for a second practice session.
