FIA WEC champion Richard Lietz eager to perform well at Silverstone with Porsche

Richard Lietz the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Pro champion will compete in all nine rounds of the 2016 season with the semi-works Dempsey Proton Racing team.

The factory Porsche driver will be sharing the #77 Porsche 911 RSR with fellow works driver Michael Christensen, the only Porsche entry in the demanding GTE-Pro class. They will face world class competitors representing Aston Martin, Ferrari and Ford.

Richard Lietz is looking forward to strong 2016 season with Porsche and is eager to perform well in the opening round of the season, the Six Hours of Silverstone.

The big challenge for us in the first races will be familiarising ourselves as quickly as possible with the new team, and to work together towards delivering a good performance on the racetrack.

We’ll only know where we stand after Silverstone. As the title defenders with our proven technology, we’re up against strong competition from other manufacturers. We’re looking forward to some great duels.

We have six hours to do our very best and give them a run for their money. After all the testing, I can’t wait to get out on the track and contest my first race of the season.
