10 GTLM cars for IMSA Sports Car Grand Prix of Long Beach


IMSA has released the entry list for the upcoming Sports Car Grand Prix of Long Beach, round three of the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The GT Le Mans (GTLM) class will feature no less than ten cars. Each of the five regular brands will be represented by two cars the famous California street course. GT Le Mans will be the only GT class as GT Daytona (GTD) cars will not compete in the event.

Following two straight victories at Daytona and Sebring, Corvette Racing will target a third one at Long Beach. Points leaders Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner will be behind the wheel of the #4 Corvette C7.R. Their team-mates Antonion Garcia and Jan Magnussen will share the sister #3 Corvette C7.R.


Porsche North America will compete with two 911 RSRs. The #911 Porsche for Patrick Pilet and Nick Tandy and the #912 Porsche for Earl Bamber and Frédéric Makowiecki.

BMW Team RLL will field a pair of BMW M6 GTLMs. The #25 BMW will be driven by Bill Auberlen and Dirk Werner. The #100 M6 GTLM will be in the hands of John Edwards and Lucas Luhr.

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing will have the #66 Ford GT for Joey Hand and Dirk Müller. Ryan Briscoe and Richard Westbrook are the drivers of the #67 Ford GT.


Ferrari will be represented by two different teams. Risi Competizione will field the #62 Ferrari 488 GTE for Toni Vilander and Giancarlo Fisichella. The Scuderia Corsa #68 Ferrari 488 GTE will be driven by Daniel Serra and Alessandro Balzan.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will share the weekend at Long Beach with the IndyCar Series and Pirelli World Challenge.
