1- 2 AF Corse Ferrari in GTE-Pro in FIA WEC Silverstone FP1


Ferrari was the fastest in a wet and cold opening FIA World Endurance Championship practice session at Silverstone. Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado set the quickest time in GTE-Pro with a 2:01.067. The two factory Ferrari drivers were behind the wheel of the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE from AF Corse.

Their team-mates Davide Rigon and Sam Bird were second fastest in GTE-Pro with the #71 Ferrari 488 GTE. The top-three in class was completed the #77 Porsche 911 RSR from Dempsey Proton Racing with drivers Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen.

The two Ford GTs from Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK were inside the top-five in class. The #66 Ford GT was fourth ahead of the sister #67 machine. Aston Martin Racing cars were sixth and seventh in class with #97 Vantage GTE ahead of the #95 Aston Martin.

GTE-Am was a Ferrari affair as well. The AF Corse #83 Ferrari 458 Italia was the fastest with drivers Francois Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Rui Aguas  they set a best time of 2:04.093.

Gulf Racing was second fastest with the #86 Porsche 911 RSR. Third place went to the #88 Porsche 911 RSR from Abu Dhabi Proton Racing.
