World class GTE field in European Le Mans Series opener at Silverstone

The 2016 European Le Mans Series will kick off at Silverstone in two weeks' time. A total of fourty-five cars will compete in the season opener at the "Home of British Motorsport". The race is a four-hour endurance event.

The GTE class will be very well represented with no less than nine cars represting Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche. The GTE field is featuring some big names in GT racing, the likes of Andrea Bertolini, Richard Lietz, Richie Stanaway, Wolf Henzler and many other stars. Dunlop is once again the exclusive tire supplier of the GTE class.

Ferrari will have five 458 Italias in the opening round of the ELMS. AF Corse will field two cars at Silverstone. Formula Racing the 2015 GTE champions, AT Racing and JMW Motorsport will have a single car effort each.

Proton Competition will represent the Porsche brand this year in the ELMS. The German team will compete with a pair of Porsche 914 RSRs.

Aston Martin will race at home with two Vantage GTEs. The lone Beechdean AMR entry is joined by another Vantage GTE from the factory Aston Martin Racing team.
