Christina Nielsen is having a busy 2016 season. The talented driver from Danemark is competing in the European Le Mans Series and IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship with Ferrari GT racers. She has won the prestigious 12 Hours of Sebring last month driving a brand new Ferrari 488 GT3 from Scuderia Corsa.
In the European Le Mans Series she will be behind the wheel of a Ferrari 458 Italia from the 2015 GTE class champions Formula Racing.
Before the start of the 2016 ELMS, Christina Nielsen has been caught up by the official series website for an interesting chat about her new team and her targets for this year's competition.
They (the targets) are high. The team won the championship in 2015, they did a great job. We’ve got Le Mans on the schedule, which I am super excited about. There is a lot to learn, I’m aware there is a learning curve for me, I’m looking forward to being behind the wheel racing.
I did three races in ELMS two years ago, Estoril, Red Bull Ring and Paul Ricard. Of those Estoril is my favourite, it is an old school race track, like we have in America.
The opening round of the 2016 European Le Mans Series will be held in Silverstone.
