Aston Martin Racing takes ELMS pole position at Silverstone

Aston Martin Racing has taken the GTE pole postion for today's European Le Mans Series opener at Silverstone. The qualifying session was highlighted by the rain and very wet track. Three different brands were inside the top-three in class.

The #96 Aston Martin Vantage GTE driven by Roald Goethe, Stuart Hall and Richie Stanaway set the quickest time in class with 2:19.348.

Second fastest was the #88 Porsche 911 RSR from Proton Competition with drivers Richard Lietz, Gianluca Roda and Christian Ried.

The top-three in GTE class was completed by the JMW Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia driven by Rory Butcher, Andrea Bertolini and Rob Smith.

The four-hour race will start at 14:30 local time.
