Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing is looking to hit the ground running as they head to Great Britain for the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the 6 Hours of Silverstone from April 15-17.
The Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing team will be behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 RSR as they take on some of the best in the world in class over the Silverstone weekend and the following eight remaining rounds over the season.
Team leader Khaled Al Qubaisi is eager to return to WEC racing and this season will be partnered by David Heinemeier Hansson of Denmark while Klaus Bachler of Austria will be the third driver replacing Patrick Long for the initial opening round.
Al Qubaisi said:
We are eager for the season-opener at the 6 Hours of Silverstone following a successful Prologue at Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France last month.
Having said that, we are confident behind the Porsche 911 RSR. Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing is aiming to win at Silverstone this weekend and as many more races this season in order to win the title in class.
