Ford Performance Chip Ganassi will have a world class line-up for the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours. One of the newest announced names by the American brand is Harry Tincknell.
The British is one of the most talented drivers in sportscar racing with great experience with prototypes. In recent years Harry Tincknell competed with LMP2 machines taking many prestigious class victories including at Le Mans 24 Hours in 2014.
At Ford, he will compete in three events, the 6 Hours of Silverstone, the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and of course the Le Mans 24 Hours. He will be sharing the #67 car with Marino Franchitti and Andy Priaulx.
Harry Tincknell is mroe than delighted with the factory Ford GT drive and is looking forward to perform well in one of the most demanding classes of the FIA WEC.
At 24, to be driving a Ford GT car at Le Mans exactly 50 years after the famous 1-2-3 finish for the team is incredibly special for me personally. Ford has such an incredible history at Le Mans and I think with this car and team, we can emulate some of that success.
We’ll be resuming that fierce battle with Ferrari, but it will be very competitive with all of the manufacturers in the class so we are in for a great fight. There is an incredible drive within the team at the moment and everyone is excited to be back. I’m very proud to be a part of it all.
