Bentley back to Le Mans and FIA WEC with a factory Continental GTE

Bentley is about to return to Le Mans 24 Hours. 14 years after their last and very successful appearanceat La Sarthe (1-2 Bentley in 2003), the British brand will be back as a full factory team.

Bentley's effort will be around the very demanding GTE-Pro class with a brand new Bentley Continental GTE. The car will be presented at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.

Bentley will compete in all of next year's FIA World Endurance Championship rounds as well joining the likes of Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford and Porsche.

The Le Mans and FIA WEC efforts will be in the hands of the brand's parteners from M-Sport. Malcolm Wilson's squad is behind the successful Bentley Continental GT3 and is performing well in Blancpain GT Series.

Bentley wants to compete in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as well, in the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class either with M-Sport or with an American team.

The first race of the 2017 Bentley Continental GTE will be the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the opening round of the IMSA series.
