Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing are looking forward to the FIA World Endurance Championship's (WEC) official pre-season test, The Prologue, which will be held from March 25-26 at Circuit Paul Ricard at Le Castellet in the south of France.
The Prologue will be the first opportunity for competitors, media and fans throughout the world to see 2016's WEC teams on track all together.
Of the 32 full season entries for the 2016 WEC, 29 will be present at Circuit Paul Ricard for the five sessions of testing planned over two days, including a night session on Friday, March 25.
Team leader Khaled Al Qubaisi is eager to return to WEC racing behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 RSR and this season will be partnered by two new drivers - Heinemeier Hansson of Denmark and American Patrick Long.
Apart from the new team-mates, Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing also have a new engineer and a new tire compound developed specifically for Porsche by Michelin last year.
Al Qubaisi said:
For the pre-season test it will be good to get the feeling of the car back after more than four months since our last race which was in Bahrain. It will also be good to get to know the new team as we have a different line up and also a different engineer.
The most crucial thing will be to know how to extract the best performance out of the car with the new tire compound which was developed specifically for Porsche by Michelin last year. This should be a major improvement if we can make it work and understand it well as drivers and be able to find the best set up for the different tracks.
