An all BMW front row in GTLM at 12 Hours of Sebring


BMW Team RLL dominated again the GT Le Mans field at Sebring International Raceway. The cars from the Munich based brand were the quickest in the qualifying session for tomorrow's 12 Hours of Sebring and round two of the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The factory #25 BMW M6 GTLM took pole position in GTLM in the hands of Bill Auberlen. The American BMW factory driver set the best time in the session with 1:58.402. Bill Auberlen will share the car with Dirk Werner and Bruno Spengler.

Their team-mates John Edwards, Lucas Luhr and Kuno Wittmer will start from position two on the grid with the #100 BMW M6 GTLM. John Edwards set a best time of 1:58.592.

The top-three in GTLM went to the #68 Ferrari 488 GTE from Scuderia Corsa. Daniel Serra set the third fastest time in class with a 1:58.637.

The #67 Ford GT (Ford Chip Ganassi Racing) was fourth. The #3 Corvette C7.R (Corvette Racing) was fifth. The #4 Corvette C7.R (Corvette Racing) was sixth. The #911 Porsche 911 RSR (Porsche North America) was seventh. The #62 Ferrari 488 GTE (Risi Competizione) was eighth. The #66 Ford GT (Ford Chip Ganassi Racing) was ninth and the #912 Porsche 911 RSR (Porsche North America) was tenth.
