1-2 BMW in GTLM in Sebring third practice session

BMW Team RLL dominated in highly competitive GT Le Mans (GTLM) class in the third and final practice session on Thursday.

The #100 BMW M6 GTLM driven by John Edwards, Lucas Luhr and Kuno Wittmer set the fastest time in GTLM with 1:59.270. Bill Auberlen, Dirk Werner and Bruno Spengler on the sister #25 BMW M6 GTLM were second fastest with a best time of 1:59.894.

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing ended the day with a fine third best time in the night session. The #67 Ford GT shared by Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and Scott Dixon was the best of the rest behind the BMWs. Their team-mates Joey Hand, Dirk Müller and Sébastien Bourdais were fourth fastest with the #66 Ford GT.

The #3 Corvette C7.R Corvette Racing (Garcia/Magnussen/Rockenfeller) was fifth, the #68 Ferrari 488 GTE Scuderia Corda (Pier Guidi/Serra/Bertolini) was sixth, the #912 Porsche 911 RSR Porsche North America (Bamber/Makowiecki/Christensen) was seventh, the #4 Corvette C7.R Corvette Racing was eighth (Gavin/Milner/Fassler), the #62 Ferrari 488 GTE Risi Competizione (Fisichella/Vilander/Rigon) was ninth and the  #911 Porsche 911 RSR Porsche North America (Pilet/Tandy/Estre) was tenth.

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams and drivers will be back on track on Friday for a fourth and final practice session followed by the qualifying one.
