Busy 2016 season for Proton Competition with Porsche


Proton Competition is about to have a very busy 2016 season with Porsche. The German squad will be competing in two different series with their 911 RSRs.

The Christian Ried managed team will be back to the upper GTE-Pro class in FIA World Endurance Championship as the factory supported Porsche effort. A single upadeted Porsche 911 RSR will be entered in the premier Grand Touring class of FIA WEC in the hands of 2015 champion Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen. They will be joined at Le Mans 24 Hours by fellow Porsche works driver Wolf Henzler.

Proton Competition will compete the GTE-Am as well. A Porsche 911 RSR will be entered under Abu Dhabi Proton Racing and will be driven by Khaled Al Qubaisi, Patrick Long and David Heinemeier. Proton Competition will give aslo support to the newly announced KCMG GTE-Am effort in FIA WEC.

All three Porsches will be joined by a fourth 911 RSR at Le Mans 24 Hours. The entry will be under Proton Competition banner and will compete in GTE-Am class.

Last but not least, the European Le Mans Series. Proton Competition will have two cars in the GTE class of the ELMS. Two Porsche 911 RSRs will target the European title after years of Ferrari domination.
