Earl Bamber happy for Porsche GTLM podium at Rolex 24

Porsche North America had a solid Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Stuttgart based brand entered two factory updated Porsche 911 RSR cars in the demanding GT Le Mans (GTLM) class.

The Porsche North America run cars challenged for the GTLM class victory and were leading the field for many hours. At the end of the 24-hour Florida classic, the #912 Porsche 911 RSR driven by Earl Bamber, Frederic Makowiecki and Michael Christensen took a strong third place and a deserved podium.

Earl Bamber was one of the strongest driver in GTLM by showing a great pace and setting fast lap times. He was leading the class in the closing stages of the race before being overtaken by two much faster Corvette C7.Rs.

The Porsche ace was happy about the team's performances and podium in one of the most exciting endurance races in recent years.

Until shortly before the finish, I tried everything to fend off the Corvettes. We had a great fight, but they were simply faster today.

Third place is a great result for the team. The GTLM class is so competitive. The races this year will definitely be super exciting and just as tough as this one.
