BMW Motorsport will debut the brand new BMW M6 GTLM at Daytona International Circuit. The famous Florida circuit will play host to the opening round of the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
One of the two factory run BMW Team RLL cars will be driven by Lucas Lhur. The works BMW driver will share the #100 M6 GTLM with John Edwards his regular team-mate in IMSA and by IndyCar star Graham Rahal.
Lucas Luhr is aiming high at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and wants to shine in the very demanding GT Le Mans class against some strong rivals.
After many months of testing and developing our M6 GTLM it is time to go racing. It is a big challenge to have the Rolex 24 as our first race, but I think we are well prepared.
We had a strong Roar test so I am looking forward to the race. It is going to be a very tough fight this year in the GTLM class, but I’m looking forward to another year with BMW team RLL.
I love racing in the US. I think it is the best GT racing in the world.
