1-2 BMW M6 GTLM in the second Daytona test session

As was the case in the opening test session, BMW Team RLL was the quickest again in the second one at Daytona International Speedway.

At the end of the session, it was a 1-2 BMW M6 GTLM in the very demanding GT Le Mans class.

Bill Auberlen, Dirk Werner, Augusto Farfus and Bruno Spengler were the fastest in class behind the wheel of the #25 BMW M6 GTLM. They set the best time in GTLM with 1:45.120.

Their team-mates Lucas Luhr, John  Edwards, Kuno Wittmer and Graham Rahal - who lead the first session - were right behind in a strong second place and a best time of 1:45.150.

The top-three in class was completed by Corvette Racing. The #3 Corvette C7.R of Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen and Mike Rockenfeller with a best time of 1:45.164.

Ford Performance Chip Ganassi Racing performed well too setting the fourth quickest time with the #67 Ford GT driven by Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and Stefan Mücke. The SMP Racing #72 Ferrari 488 GTE of Viktor  Shaitar, Andrea Bertolini, Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado was fifth.

The #66 Ford GT (Ford Performance Chip Ganassi Racing) was sixth ahead of the #68 Ferrari 488 GTE (Scuderia Corsa) in seventh place. Porsche North America's 2016 spec 911 RSRs were eighth and ninth.

The #4 Corvette C7.R did not take part in the second session. The car sustained fire in the opening one.
