Dempsey Proton Racing moves to GTE-Pro as Porsche factory supported team

Porsche will return to the GTE-Pro class next year in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The German brand won't be represented by Porsche Team Manthey but will see a familiar squad taking care of the Porsche 911 RSR in the upper GT class of FIA WEC.

Proton Competition from Germany will enter a Porsche 911 RSR under Dempsey Proton Racing banner.

The car will be driven by fresh news FIA WEC GTE-Pro champion Richard Lietz and his regular team-mate Michael Christensen. Their mission will be to defend all of the three titles won by the Stuttgart based brand in 2015.

I addition to the GTE-Pro effort, Dempsey Proton Racing will continue in the GTE-Am class next year. Patrick Dempsey is expected to compete in selected events. The names of the drivers will be annouced later.
