A Ferrari 458 Italia was the fastest in GTE class in the opening European Le Mans Series practice session at Imola this morning.
The session started with a very wet track, however conditions improved throughout the 1h30 session. The red flag came twice following two crashes involving prototype cars
The AT Racing #56 Ferrari 458 entry driven by Alexander Talkanitsa, Alexander Talka Jr and Alessandro Pier Guidi was the fastest in class.The Austrian teams set the best time for GTE cars, 1:50.824.
Proton Competition's #14 Porsche 911 RSR was second fastest with drivers Richard Lietz, Marco Mapelli and Christian Ried.
Third place went to the Formula Racing #17 Ferrari 458 Italia shared by Johnny Laursen, Mikkel Mac and Andrea Rizzoli.
The BMW Z4 GTE from BMW Team Marc VDS was fourth fastest with Andy Priaulx, Henry Hassid and Jesse Krohn.
The second practice session will start at 15:00 local time.
